When is the best time to book my
furniture removal?
Whilst we can normally organise your move with only a few days notice,
wherever possible we do suggest that as soon as you have decided on your
removalist, then you should book your move. This then becomes one less thing
to worry about, and allows the removalist to schedule and organize
everything from there end.
How do I organise insurance for
my furniture removal?
Whilst we do have a standard transit protection cover in place for fire,
flood, collision and over turning of our vehicles. We cannot (by law) sell a
comprehensive insurance policy, as we do not have a license to do so. Please
talk to your current insurance provider, your removal may be covered in your
home and contents insurance. Or you can visit
www.allianz.com.au who specialize in
furniture removals insurance.
Can you move pot plants?
Due to interstate and council laws, we do not move plants of any type across
any state border. Unless it is only a local move and no borders are being
crossed. Plants are also a hazard to the rest of the furniture in our
vehicle should it tip, fall or spill.
I really need a quote today,
what is the quickest way to receive a quote?
By submitting an online form, as this will provide us with all the
information we need and this will ensure you receive your quote as quickly
as humanly possible.
I am not sure how many boxes I
will have as I am not moving for a few months.
Try to guestimate by estimating the number of boxes for each room.
Remember as you get closer to your move, you can always submit a new quote
with the adjusted figures, and we can then finalize your quote.
Do you insist on customers using
removalist cartons, and boxes?
Whilst we certainly do not insist that you use standard removal cartons, it
is highly recommended as these standard cartons are manufactured especially
for the furniture removals and storage industry. They are heavy duty and it
is much easier to stack boxes that are all the same size.

For some children the prospect of a new school, new friends or even a new

* Talk to your children about your move and get them used to the idea well
in advance.
* Involve your children in the planning process
* Help them learn about the new community where they will be living.
* Let them be honest with you about how they’re feeling.
* Try explaining the concept of moving to young children by play-acting with
dolls, boxes and a truck.
Above all, keep your children safe on the moving day and reassure your
children that you’re not going to leave them behind!

accommodate to best suit your needs.
Can I ask the removalist to
stack the truck in a way I'd prefer?
GTS Furniture Removals utilizes only trained and professional removalists.
Therefore, unless you are a qualified removalist and packer it is very
unlikely you will be able to stack the truck as professional as our
removalist. We do, however understand the need to listen to requests of what
needs to be delivered at the drop off points first, so in these cases
communicating with our removalist will assist in them allowing for your
requests.
Is there anything I should do to
pre-pare my goods for transit?
Where you have certain items such as a washing machine we recommend you
follow the manufacturers instructions as they can be easily damaged. Fridge/
Freezers should be emptied and wiped clean throughout. Vanilla essence helps
keep mildew away particularly if its going into storage. Glass/ timber
shelves should be pulled off and kept together for safety and dis-assembling
beds etc will help with minimising the time the removalist's needs to be at
your premises, saving you time and money.
To ensure a safe journey of the
contents packed please follow these simple rules:
1. Line the bottom of each carton with crushed paper to create a cushioning
layer to depth of 5 Cm's. Repeat this at the top of each carton.
2. All empty spaces should be filled with crushed paper to avoid unnecessary
movement.
3. Stow heavy items on the bottom and lightest on the top.
4. Bundle like items, eg: plates by wrapping them individually, then group
together in bundles no more than six.
5. When placing bundles in cartons, remember the long side is the strong
side, keeping all items vertical.
6. Pack like items together, avoid packing glassware with china etc.
7. Pack books into book and wine cartons placing bundles on their edge
For additional packing tips or answers to your questions please contact our
office.
HOW TO SAVE ON YOUR MOVE
If you have the time and energy to prepare for your move and are looking to
move as economically as possible, you may wish to do any combination, or all

1. Disassemble any beds, swings, trampolines or items that cannot be moved
without being taken apart.
2. Defrost your fridge and or freezer and have emptied and dry ready for
collection.
3. Unplug and secure all leads to electrical appliances.
4. Centralize smaller items into a central location eg: carport or living
area

the men will need to make to the vehicle.
6. Separate any items that you do not require moved and position them away
from those being moved by our staff.
